The Rapture

Matthew 24:36 "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only."

Why, you might well ask, are we only studying the "rapture" briefly? Why not, as so many others have, go into the subject fully?

It is because of our Lord's statement above that I say we will briefly discuss this issue. Basically for two reasons:

  1. The Lord has said, "But of that day and hour knoweth no man,"

  2. and the Lord also said:

Matthew 5:13 "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men."

There is no doubt, at least in my mind and my understanding of the Bible, that the Lord wants us to be "salt of the earth". That is, to be "Spiritual Christians" and not "Carnel Christians". To be "Biblical Christians" and not "Cultural Christians". For if we concentrate on something which "of that day and hour knoweth no man" we are there by spending way to much time on that subject when we are called to be "the salt of the earth". We are to not lose our "saltiness" by studying those things which "of that day and hour knoweth no man".

By concentrating, as way to many do, on "the rapture" and "second coming" of our Lord basically what happens to us is "the salt have lost his savour ... thenceforth good for nothing". We become "Carnel or Cultural Christians" by neglecting our study time to becoming "the salt of the earth".

I realize, of course, that studying these things is exciting to say the least. I also realize that some are called to make such studies. But I also feel that few are called to "jump head long" into this type of study, especially a lot fewer than are!

Look across the web and you will see "oh so many" sites dedicated to the "Rapture" and the "Second Coming" ... and "oh so few" dedicated to helping those that want a closer walk with our Lord on a day to day basis.

The basis of this site, "Faith Mountain", is to help those that want a "closer walk" with our Lord. And that in a "nutshell" is why I say "Briefly".

May God Bless You
