 The oldest known family member that has been found is "Edward Stubbs" (1) who shows up in the 1880 census living with his wife Anngelena and their two oldest children on the farm of Nathan and Margrat Clark in Kent County, Delaware.

After their marriage they evidently resided on the farm of Nathan and Margrat Clark in Kent County, Delaware as they are shown living in that household in the 1880 census. Edward (1) is noted as a laborer. They later moved to Goldsboro, Md. Edward (1) passed away on April 23, 1916 & his wife Anngelena passed away on December 20, 1946. They are both interred in the Mt. Family Notes: Clara (2) married an "Eveland" but nothing further is known of that family. Margaret (7) married "Samuel Schyler" and they had 7 children & they are interred in Denton Cem., Denton, MD. Elezene (7) died at the age of 17.
Robert (3) first worked for the Highway and lived in the town of Goldsboro, Md. He later moved to Bridgetown, Md. in ca. 1909 & worked on a farm owned by Robert Jarrell. He moved back to Goldsboro, Md. in cir. 1918 and worked as a tenant farmer also for Robert Jarrell on the farm right outside of Goldsboro, Md. on the left (still being farmed). The farm house that they lived in has since been torn down. Robert (3) died on that farm of a brain tumor after being treated at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md. with no success on June 26, 1921. His wife Nora continued living on the farm as it was worked by her sons and died there in 1953 after an aneurysm burst in her throat. They are both interred in Mt. Olive Cem., in Sandtown, De. Family Notes: George (35) was married twice. He had children with his first wife, whose name is unknown, and none with his second wife who was "Ellen Mae Peterson" of Mt. Vernon, Oh. Ellen lives in South Bowers, DE and was unwilling to supply the names of George's children. However William (34) updated me anyway. Nothing further is known of Ellen (36) or Julie (37).
William Edward Stubbs, (6) William "Edward", (6) was born the 5th child & 3rd son of Edward W. (1) and Anngelena (Boyd) Stubbs on November 13, 1887 near Goldsboro, MD. He married "Ruth McMillian" whose dates and personal information is currently unknown. During most of his life William owned and operated a store in Henderson, MD. His wife Ruth was a homemaker and also worked in the store with her husband. They also resided in Henderson, Md. for most of their lives. William (6) died on June 26, 1951 at the age of 64 from a Heart Attack. He is interred in the Greensboro Cem. Greensboro, MD. Clayton Andrew Stubbs, (8) Clayton, (8) was born the 7th and last child & 4th son of Edward W. (1) and Anngelena (Boyd) Stubbs on January 25, 1894 near Goldsboro, MD. He married "Margaret May Cannon" on July 20, 1913 near Goldsboro, MD. Margaret was born on July 10, 1896 the dau of Joseph & Sally (Coleman) Cannon near Goldsboro, MD. Clayton worked as a tenant farmer. His wife Margaret was a homemaker. Margaret preceeded Clayton in death on September 15, 1967 of Breast Cancer at the Wilmington Medical Center, Wilmington, DE. Family Notes: C. Silver (40) died of Pneumonia and is interred in the Mt. Olive Cem., Sandtown, De. Dorothy (44) married a "Philbin" and has passed away however the date and place of her interment is unknown. Number's (47) & (48) were girls that both died at birth.
William Temple Stubbs, (26) William "Temple", (26) was born the 1st child & 1st son of Robert Henry (3) and Nora Jane (Urry) Stubbs on March 22, 1904 in Goldsboro, MD. He married "Edna May Clark" on December 26, 1928 in Goldsboro, MD in the preacher's parsonage. Edna was born the dau of Samuel & Elsie (Dill) Clark on October 23, 1906 in Sandtown, De. Temple (26) attended all of his schooling in a one room school house in Bridgetown, Md. where his family moved in ca. 1909 so that his father could work on the Robert Jarrell Farm. The family moved back to Goldsboro, Md. in ca. 1916 to become tenant farmers also for Robert Jarrell on a farm just outside of Goldsboro, MD on the left on the road to Greensboro, MD. Shortly after moving back to Goldsboro, Md. Temple's (26) father Robert (3) developed a brain tumor that caused Temple (26) to quit school and help his father on the farm. Temple (26) continued to work the farm after his fathers death until 1957 when he purchased two farms in the Felton, De. area. He resided on those farms until his death. He first grew apples & peaches and later lima beans, tomatoes and sweet potatoes before retiring. Edna was a homemaker. She passed away on July 1, 1990 of a heart attack as a result of a stroke & is interred in Barrett's Chapel Cem., Frederica, De. Temple (26) passed away on October 2, 2002 at the age of 98. Boots (27) worked on his own farm for many years & then worked at the Chrysler Plant in Newark, De. from where he retired. Boots (27) passed away on June 14, 1980 & is interred in the Greensboro Cem., Greensboro, MD. His wife Marie passed away in February 3, 1998 and was interred next to her husband. Charles James Stubbs, (31) Charles "Bill", (31) was born the 6th child & 5th son of Robert Henry (3) and Nora Jane (Urry) Stubbs on December 12, 1914 in Bridgetown. He married "Elsie Elizabeth Southerland" on June 24, 1937 in Hobbs. Elsie was born the dau of James Fisher & Alice (Cartwright) Southerland on August 19, 1916 in Harrington, De. After their marriage they resided in Harrington, De. Bill (31) first worked at the Taylor's Hardware Company as a mechanic on John Deere Tractors. They then moved to Frederica, De. due to Bill (31) taking over ownership of a gas station which became known as "Stubb's Service Station" in Frederica. He ran the station from 1953 until his death on June 26, 1977. Bill (31) died of a heart attack at his home in Frederica & was interred at Barrett's Chapel Cem. outside of Frederica. Elsie spent most of her time at home raising their four children until after Bill's (31) death at which time she worked as a helpmate for the elderly in the area. She was also member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Frederica, Frederica Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, Spring Creek Lions Club and Frederica Senior Center. Robert Earl Stubbs, (32) Robert "Puss", (32) was born the 7th child & 6th son of Robert Henry (3) and Nora Jane (Urry) Stubbs on July 1, 1917 in Goldsboro. He has been married twice. He was married 1st to "Catherine "Elizabeth" Savage" on June 28, 1946 in Wyoming, De. She was born the dau of Burton & Amanda (Sipple) Savage in 1921. Elizabeth stayed at home, raised her children, and was a homemaker. She died of pancreatic Cancer on August 25, 1972 in Kent General Hospital, Dover, DE and is interred in the Odd Fellow's Cem. in Milford, DE. Puss (32) and Elizabeth had 2 children together. Puss (32) then married "Nina Lorriane Ford" on July 27, 1973 in the Wesley Methodist Church in Dover, DE. She was born the dau of Edward Vaugan & Rose Myrtle (McDowell) Ford on March 6, 1932. They have no children together. Puss (32) served in the U.S. Army as a corporal during World War II. He was a member of the 97th Infantry Division which advanced into Germany during the final months of the war. His division was then assigned to the occupation of Japan after their surrender for 16 months. Puss (32) died from a heart attack on January 17, 1999 at home and is interred in the Odd Fellow's Cem. in Milford, DE. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion in Smyrna, DE. Marshal Stubbs, (33) Marshall "Jack", (33) was born the 8th & last child & 7th son of Robert Henry (3) and Nora Jane (Urry) Stubbs on January 25, 1917 in Goldsboro, Md. He married "Frances Louise Steenburg" on February 6, 1942 in Magnolia, DE. Frances was born the daughter of Harry & Louise (Stevenson) Steenburg on June 25, 1921 in Frederica, DE. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines. "Jack" retired from International Playtex Corp. in 1982 as a supervisor, after 35 years of employment. James Norman Stubbs, (39) James "Norman", (39) was born the 2nd & last child & only son of William Edward (6) & Ruth (McMillian) Stubbs on November 25, 1915 in Andrewsville, DE. He married "Evalyn Louise Gooden" in 1933. She was born the dau of Edward Gooden on August 3, 1915. Her mother’s name is currently unknown. Norman (39) worked as a farmer and then later took over operation of his father's store in Henderson in 1947 and operated it until he retired. His wife Evalyn was a homemaker and worked in the store with her husband. Norman died in September 15, 1990 of Emphysema and was interred in the Greensboro Cem. His wife Evelyn resides in Dover, De. He first married "Eleanor Gold" in Philadelphia, Pa. The name of her parents and her birth date are currently unknown. Charles (42) and Eleanor had two children together. It is unknown at this time if Eleanor passed away or if they were divorced. He then married "Dorothy Coverdale" who was born the dau of Clifford & Eva (_____) Coverdale on July 6, 1929. Joseph (45) first married "Doreen Mittens" in 1945 on Hayling Island, England. She was born the daughter of John Mittens in 1923. They had one child together and are divorced. He then married "Doris Marie Tribbitt" on February 3, 1952 in Elkton. Doris was born the daughter of Victor Husband & Violet Virginia (Hammond) Tribbitt on November 10, 1930 in Denton. They have no children together. He was a U. S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II serving in England, France, and Germany. She has worked in the Food Service area and as a Homemaker for most of her life. Ralph worked as a Truck Driver and was employed by Amoco Chemical. He has passed away, however that date is not know and he was interred at Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, De. Ann (49) passed away on June 6, 2001 and was interred with her husband.
