      The above photo is the oldest photo that I have of a Bacon Family member.   This photo was believe to have been taken in Camden, New Jersey and is of my Great Grandparents William (6) and Anna Catherine (Whittich) Bacon with their first three children.   It was taken after the baptism of my Grandmother Winifred Ann Bacon (33) who is sitting on her mother's lap.
      The Family members names with an " * " in front of their names have additional information about them within this document. Those shown in "Marroon" are the direct ancestors of my children Chris, Ryan, Kayla & Kara.   Anyone that has information or questions on this family line please "email me".       William, (2) was born the son of William (1) & Hannah (_____) Bacon in Ansley, Warwickshire in 1772. He was baptised March 23, 1772 in Ansley, Warwickshire, England. He married "Priscilla Wilson" on June 10, 1793 in Nuneaton, England. Priscilla was born the daughter of William & Sarah Wilson in 1771. They had 7 known children together.

      Daniel, (22) was born the son of William (2) & Priscilla (Wilson) Bacon in Nuneaton, England in 1801. He was baptised December 26, 1801 in Nuneaton, England. He was a coal miner by trade. He married "Martha Taylor" on December 25, 1820 also in Nuneaton, England. They had 4 known children together.

Family Notes:   The year of the birth for all the above children is calculated based on their baptismal records. Milicent (27) was baptised on December 31, 1826 in Measham, Derbyshire, England. Samuel (28) was also baptised in Measham, Derbyshire, England in July, 1828. Daniel (29) was baptised on December 18, 1831 in Stockingford, Warwickshire, England. John (30) was born in New Invention, Willenhall, Staffordshire, England.

      Samuel (28) was born the 2nd child & 1st son of Daniel (22) & Martha (Taylor) Bacon in 1828 in Measham, Derbyshire, England.   At the age of 11, according to the census, he was listed as a coal miner like his father. His brother Daniel, age 9, was also listed as a coal miner and they were at that time living in Wolverhampton, England.
      In 1850 he married "Harriet Ward" who was born in December, 1832 in England. Her parent's names are currently unknown. In the year 1851 they were noted as living on Oxford Street in the parish of St. George, Wolverhampton. However by 1861 they had moved to Bloxwich, near Walsall, where there was evidently more mining work.
      In the 1871 census, Samuel (28) and his family had moved to the far north of England in County Durham. It appears they may have been looking for a better life in the countryside, and this may be what inspired them to emigrate to America 15 years later.
      In the 1881 census, however, they are noted living in Burtwood, Staffordshire. Evidently it didn't work out for them in County Durham and they returned to this area for more work.
      In the late 1880's they evidently decided that the best thing for them was moving to America to look for more mining work. They are believed to have landed in Philadelphia in ca. 1888.
      They moved to and resided in Mahanoy City, Schuylkill Cty, PA. which was a coal mining town during that time.   They are both believed to have died there sometime between 1900 and 1910 since they don’t either showup in the 1910 census.   Together they reportedly had twelve children.   Only six of their names are currently known.

John Bacon, (30)
      John (30) was born the 4th child and 3rd son of Daniel (22) & Martha (Taylor) Bacon in 1832/3 in New Invention, Willenhall, Staffordshire, England.   It is believed at this time that he ended up being a coal miner like his father at a young age. He married "Zillah Bevington" in 1858. Her parent's names and dates are currently unknown. They had 1 known children together.

Mary Bacon, (31)
      Mary, (31) was born the daughter of Samuel (28) and Harriet (Ward) Bacon presumably in England.   She apparently came from England with her parents.   She was married twice. She 1st married "John Hughes" with whom she had one child. It is unknown whether they were divorced for if he passed away. His parent's names are also unknown.
      She was married 2nd to a "Finn" whose first name and parent's names are currently unknown. They had 2 known children together.

Family Notes:   Both Beatrice (8) and Thursa (9) passed away in Hazleton, Pa.   Thursa (9) never married.

Samuel Bacon, Jr., (32)
      Samuel, (32) was born the son of Samuel (28) and Harriet (Ward) Bacon on November 26, 1860 in Bloxwich Staffs, England.   He apparently came from England in 1887 prior to his parents as a young man with his wife.   He married "Anna Tolley" (who may have been previously married - see notes) in Rugeley Staffs, England on April 22, 1878.   She was born the daughter of Walter and Mary (Aspley) Tolley on March 17, 1856 in Willenhall Staffs, England.
      After moving to the US they resided in Mahanoy City, Schuylkill Cty, PA.   Samuel (32) passed away on February 4, 1933 while at his daughter Esther's home in Nanticoke, PA of Pneumonia.   He was interred in the Pine Hill, Cemetery, Shickshinny, Pa.   His wife Anna passed away on July 20, 1934 in the Newark City Hospital, Newark, NJ.   It is unknown where they were interred.   They are believed to have had 13 children together however only 7 are known.

Daniel (53) and Mary Ann Harriet (52) were born in England.   Esther (54) and Samuel (55) were born in Tamaqua, Schuylkill Cty, PA. Harriet Bacon, (33)
      Harriet, (33) was born the 2nd child & only known daughter of Samuel (28) and Harriet (Ward) Bacon in 1862 in Wilshire, England.   She came over from England in 1884 prior to her parents as a young woman with her husband.   She married "Moses Dericott" in England in 1878.   He was born in 1857 in Wilshire, England.   His parents names are currently unknown.   After moving to the US they resided in Mahanoy City, Schuylkill Cty, PA.   The date of both of their deaths is currently unknown. Daniel Bacon, (34)
      Daniel, (34) was born the 3rd child & 2nd son of Samuel (28) and Harriet (Ward) Bacon in 1864 in Wilshire, England.   He came over from England with his parents 1888.   He was married twice, however only the name of his second wife is known.   She was "Elizabeth Jones" (her maiden name is unknown) and they were married in PA.   She was born in Pa. in 1863.   Her parents names are unknown.   She had two children from a previous marriage, George & John Jones.   Daniel (34) had one child from his first marriage and one from his second.   The date of his and both his wives death is currently unknown. Child of Daniel & Unknown:

William Bacon (36)

      William (36) was born the 6th child & 4th son of Samuel (28) and Harriet (Ward) Bacon in January 29, 1872 in Wilshire, England.   He came with his family from England as a young boy.   He married "Anna Catherine Whittich" who was the daughter of Valentine and Anna Savina (Gerhart) Whittich on December 13, 1894 in Mahanoy City, Schuylkill Cty, Pa.   She was born on December 29, 1876 in Tamaqua.   During their marriage they resided in Camden, NJ.
      His wife Anna died while giving birth to George (39) in 1905 at the age of 29.   She was interred in Tamaqua, Schuylkill Co., Pa. however the exact cemetery is unknown.   William's (6) niece Mary Ann Harriet Bacon (12) then helped to take care of William's (6) children until he eventually remarried.
      William (36) then married "Gerturude (Didyoung) McBreen" in 1907.   Gerturde was born in August 1878 the dau of Adam & Elizabeth (_____) Didyoung.   Gertrude had been previously married to a "McBreen" with whom she had one child, Veronica McBreen.   Gertrude died on April 20, 1923 in Camden, NJ and was also interred there.   William (36) then moved to New Hope, Pa.   He died on October 8, 1946 at the age of 73 of a cerebral hemorrhage in New Hope, Pa.   He was interred in the Riverview Cem., Lambertville, NJ behind his daughter Winifred's (33) grave stone.   Together they had 6 children. 70. *Martha Magdeline Bacon, b. Jun 29, 1895, d. May 1982

William Bacon, (37)
      William (37) was born the only known child of John (30) & Zillah (Bevington) Bacon in 1865 in England.   He married "Hannah Wheatley" in 1889. Her parent's names and dates are currently unknown. They had 1 known children together.

Mary Ann Harriet Bacon, (52)

      Mary, (52) was born the daughter Samuel, Jr. (32) and Anna (Tolley) Bacon on December 5, 1882 in Boney Hay Staffs, England.   She came over from England with her parents.   She married "Theophilus Phillips" in 1906.   He was born the son of William and Mary (Reese) Phillips on August 6, 1870 in Bedwelty, Wales.   He worked as a coal miner.
      Theophilus passed away on March 4, 1937 in Newark, NJ and was interred in the Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield, NJ.   After the death of his wife he was reinterred in the Davis Chapel Cemetery, Zion Grove, Pa. beside his wife.   Mary (32) passed away at her daughter Margeret's (42) home on June 3, 1968 also in Newark, NJ.   She was 85.   She was interred in the Davis Chapel Cemetery, Zion Grove, Pa.   They had six children together.

Daniel Bacon, (53)

      Daniel, (53) was born the son of Samuel, Jr. (32) and Anna (Tolley) Bacon on November 25, 1885 in England.   He came over from England with his parents.   He married "Ada Winders" who was born November 27, 1908 in Benton, Pa.   Her parent's names are currently unknown.
      Daniel (53) passed away in 1934 at his home in Shickshinny, Pa. of Pneumonia and was interred in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Shickshinny, Pa.   Ada passed away in 1974 and was interred next to her husband.   They had one child together.

Esther Bacon, (54)

      Esther, (54) was born the daughter of Samuel, Jr. (32) and Anna (Tolley) Bacon on May 11, 1887 in Pa.   She married "William Hankey" who was born in Shickshinny, Pa.   His parent's names are currently unknown.
      William is known to be desceased but the date is unknown.   Esther (54) passed away on November 20, 1935 of Diabetes and was interred in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Shickshinny, Pa.   They had two children together.

Moses Dericott, Jr., (56)

      Moses, (56) was born the 1st child & 1st son of Moses, Sr., & Harriet (Bacon) (33) Dericott in 1884 in Wilshire, England.   He came over from England with his parents 1884.   He married "Helen _____" who was born in 1889 in Mahanoy City, Schuylkill Cty, Pa.   Her parents names are unknown.   The date of Moses’ (56) and Helen’s death are currently unknown. They had five known children together.

Harriet Dericott, (58)

      Harriet, (58) was born the 3rd child & 1st dau of Moses, Sr., & Harriet (_____) Bacon (33) in 1895 in Mahanoy City, Schuylkill Cty, Pa.   She married "Edward Burton" in 1915 in Mahanoy City.   Edward was born in 1884.   His parents names are unknown.   The death dates of neither is known and they had one known child.

Margaret Dericott, (59)

      Margaret, (59) was born the 4th child & 2nd dau of Moses, Sr., & Harriet (Bacon) Dericott (33) in 1896 in Mahanoy City, Schuylkill Cty, Pa.   She married "John Ward" who was born in 1885 in Mahanoy City, Pa. the son of Thomas & Selenia (Parfitt) Ward.   The date of Margaret's passing is currently unkown and John passed away in 1942 and he was interred in the German Protestant Cemetery, Mahanoy Township, Pa.   They had one known child.

Elizabeth Eva Dericott, (60)

      Elizabeth, (60) was born the 5th child & 3rd dau of Moses, Sr., & Harriet (Bacon) Dericott (33) on October 14, 1902 in Mahanoy City, Schuylkill Cty, Pa.   She married "Ernest Roy Butts" who was born April 11, 1892 in Mahonay City, Pa. His parent's names are currently unknown.
      Elizabeth (60) worked a lot of odd jobs for people, mainly housecleaning. Ernest was a coal miner and enjoyed painting in his spare time. Elizabeth (60) passed away on August 8, 1978 and was interred in the German Protestant Cemetery in Mahonay City, Pa.   Ernest passed away in January, 1981 and was interred next to his wife.   Together they had 3 children.

Martha Magdeline Bacon, (70)

      Martha, (70) was born the 1st child & 1st daughter of William (6) & Anna Savina (Whittich) Bacon on June 29, 1895 in Mahoney City, Schuylkill Co., Pa.   She married "James Paulley" on May 15, 1920 in Chester, Pa.   The names of his parents and his birthdate are currently unknown.
      After the death of her sister Anna (74) she raised two of her children, Martha (70) passed away in May 1982 and she was interred in Eglington, NJ however the cemetery is unknown.   The date of James' death is currently unknown as is his place of burial.   Together they had one known child.
97.  Gertrude Paulley, b. 1920; d. 1922

" Winnie Ann (Bacon) Pickett "

      Winifred "Winnie" (72) was born the 3rd child & 3rd daughter of William (36) & Anna Savina (Whittich) Bacon on May 27, 1898 on Buck Mountain, Luzerne Cty, Pa.   She married "John Ernest Pickett" (See the "Pickett Family History") on June 24, 1920 in New Hope.   He was the son of Jacob Dunlap and Eleanor Minerva (Smith) Pickett and was born on December 3, 1897 in New Hope.
      After their marriage they resided in a stone home on Mechanic Street, across from the old Town Hall & Jail.   That house is still standing.   Her husband John, an unskilled laborer, had multiple jobs during his lifetime, the last being a guard at the bridge that ran over the Delaware River between New Hope & Lambertville, NJ.   John also served in World War I as a Private in the U.S. Army.   Winnie (72) worked cleaning people's homes & washing clothes to help make ends meet during their marriage.
      Winnie (72) & her husband John moved from the above mentioned residence to a house next door, on the corner of Mechanic & Main Street ca. 1926. The house that they moved to has since been torn down for the widening of Main Street. They moved from there to a house directly across the street that was next to the Old Town Hall (on the Main Street Side) that has also since been torn down.   This home was the last home that John resided.
      John died on September 18, 1944 at the age of 46 on the corner of Main & Bridge Streets in New Hope, of a Heart Attack.   He was interred in the Riverview Cem., Lambertville, NJ.
      Winnie (72) moved to Lambertville, NJ ca. October 1944, in a home across from her son Richard (34).   She then moved to an apartment built for her over the garage of her daughter Margaret's (32) home in New Hope where she lived until moving with Margaret (32) to Punta Gorda, FL ca. 1974.
      Winnie (72) died on October 18, 1983 at the age of 87 in Punta Gorda, FL.   She was interred in the Charlotte Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda, however, she has a headstone in Riverview Cem., Lambertville, NJ which shows her correct birth & death year.   This stone is along side of her husband John's.   Together they had 3 children.

William Bacon, Jr., (73)

      William, (73) was born the 4th child & 1st son of William (36) & Anna Savina (Whittich) Bacon on January 16, 1900 on Buck Mountain, Luzerne Cty, Pa.   He married "Eletta Parker" in 1920 in Camden, NJ.   She was born in Michigan in 1902.   The names of her parents are currently unknown.
      After their marriage it is believed that they resided in Camden, NJ.   The dates of both their deaths and where they are interred is currently unknown.   Together they had one known child.

Family Notes:   James (103) was born in Camden, NJ and he passed away in Cape May, NJ.

Anna Emily Bacon, (74)

      Anna, (74) was born the 5th child & 4th & last daughter of William (36) & Anna Savina (Whittich) Bacon on November 15, 1902 on Buck Mountain, Luzerne Cty, Pa.       After their marriage it is believed that they resided in New Hope, Pa.   Anna (74) passed away on March 7, 1932 at the age of 29.   She was interred in St. Mary's Cemetery in Bellmaur, NJ.   Edward passed away on August 28, 1958 in Deptford, NJ and was also buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmaur, NJ.   Together they had six children.

      Reese, (81) was born the 5th child & 1st son of Theophilus and Mary Ann Harriet (Bacon) (12) Phillips on May 5, 1916 in Zion Grove, Pa.   He married "Kumiko Sato" who was born in Japan.   Her parent's names and birthdate are currently unknown.
      He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving his country during World War II and the Korean War. He served 32 years with the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1972.   The resided in Milford, De.
      Reese (81) was instrumental in the planning and development of the Delaware Veterans Cemeteries, now in operation in Bear and Millsboro, De., and was most recently involved with the planning stages of the proposed site of the veterans home to be built in Milford, De. He was a life member of Walter L. Fox Post 2 in Dover, De., a member of the Disabled American Veterans Association, a commissioner with Veterans Affairs in Dover, De. and was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Milford. He passed away on April 4, 2005 in the Veteran's Hospital in Elsmere, De. He was interred in the Davis Chapel Cemetery, Zion Grove, Pa.   They had three children together.

      He has been married twice.   He was 1st married to Irma Jane Stahler who was born the daughter of Harry and Irma Stahler on March 24, 1930.   She is a retired register nurse, having worked many years at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Pottsville, Pa.   She currently resides in Mt. Joy, Pa.   They had two children together and were later divorced in 1975.
      He then married 2nd to Robinette Krammes on July 28, 1976.   Robinette was previously married and has one daughter named Colette Eckert who was born Dec. 18, 1970.   Colette works for the US Tennis Association and is studying for her teaching credentials and residing in York, Pa.
      William (96) served charges in Chester Springs, Schuylkill Haven, and Enola, Pa. before his retirement.   He currently resides in Mechanicsburg, Pa. with his wife Robinette and they do not have any children together.

He attended all his schooling in New Hope.   Jack (101) then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and entered World War II.   After coming home from the War he married "Emma Virginia Stout" on August 24, 1946 in St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Lambertville, NJ.   Virginia was born on July 25, 1925 in Lambertville, NJ, the dau of Russell & Edith Elizabeth (Shepherd) Stout.   (See the "Stout Family History")
      After their marriage they moved to Lancaster, Pa. due to Jack (101) attending Millersville State Teachers College in Millersville, PA.   Their first son John, III (158) was born while they lived in Lancaster.
      They then moved to High Street in Odessa, Delaware due to Jack (101) obtaining a job as a teacher in Warner Junior High School in Wilmington, DE.   Later they moved into a home, that for the most part, was built by John on Cantwell Avenue, also in Odessa.
      Jack (101) taught shop at Warner until he became the Vice Principal of Brown Vo-Tech School also in Wilmington.   He later became the principal of "Howard High School" in Wilmington.   Over the years he also worked part time at the Jewish Community Center, Men's Prison at Prices Corner, and at the Governor Bacon Health Center in Delaware City, De.       Jack (158) first married "Susan Walker Hall" on August 30, 1970 in the Church of The Messiah in Gwynedd.   Susan was born the dau of Herbert Douglas & Margery (Buehler) Hall on October 27, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA.   The marriage ended as the result of a divorce on September 27, 1979.
      Jack (158) & Susan were married while they were both still attending College & first resided in an apartment in Lancaster.   After graduation they moved to Middletown, De. on West Main Street as a result of Jack (158) being offered a Teaching position in the Appoquinimink School District, Middletown, De.   After their divorce Susan moved to Wilmington, De. where she later passed away as a result of cancer.   Jack (158) & Susan did not have any children together and she has since passed away.
      Jack (158) then met "Tammy Lee Rogers" and they were married on May 21, 1983 in St. Paul's Methodist Church in Odessa, De.   Tammy was born on Dec 28, 1957 in Dover, De. and is the dau of Richard Gordon and Bernice Elizabeth (Burris) Rogers.   After their marriage they settled at the home on West Main Street in Middletown where they still reside.   Tammy had two children previous to this marriage, Gary Lee & Christy Marie Ogden.

" Russell S. Pickett (159) "
(cir. 1954)

      Russell "Russ" (159) was born the 2nd & last child & 2nd son of John Ernest, Jr. (101) and Emma Virginia (Stout) Pickett on October 29, 1951 in the Delaware Division Hospital in Wilmington, DE.   He was named after his maternal grandfather Russell Stout. (See the "Stout Family History")
      "Russ" (159) has been married twice.   He first was married to "Diane Sue Collison" on November 6, 1971 in St. Luke's Methodist Church in Denton, MD.   Diane was born on December 30, 1952 in Milford, DE. & is the daughter of Albert Roland & Dorotha Lee (Stubbs) Collison of Greensboro, MD.   (See the "Collison Family History")   Separation of this marriage took place with Diane leaving on July 13, 1991 & was ended by divorce on May 21, 1992.   Diane & Russ (159) have two sons together, "Christopher" & "Ryan".
      Russ (159) then met and had a relationship with "Ruth Elizabeth Hardy" in September, 1991.   Together they had twin daughters, "Kayla Grace" & "Kara Virginia Pickett".   "Ruthie" was born on August 27, 1970 in Kent General Hospital, Dover, DE. the daughter of John Robert & Ruth Elizabeth (Dean) Hardy.   (See the "Hardy Family History")   "Ruthie" had one child by a previous marriage to Bradley McReynolds, Eric Adam McReynolds. Ruthie currently lives in rural Dover, De.
      In March, 1999 Russ (159) met and started a relationship with "Karen Lorraine (Hodge) Hanshaw" of Rochester, New York.   This relationship continued with their engagement on July 16, 1999 and on August 19, 2000 Karen and Russ (159) were married in the Hall of the Cheswold Volunteer Fire Company.   Karen was born the daughter of Leo & Nancy (Bishop) Hodge on March 25, 1959 in Rochester, New York.   (See the "Hodge Family History")   Karen was previously married to Kevin Lynn Hanshaw and together they had two children, Kelli and Kyle.   Kelli is currently married to Jeremy Truax and they reside in Suffolk, Va.   (See the "Truax Family History")   Kyle lives with Russ (159) and his Mom.
      Russ (159)) worked for the State of Delaware as a Computer Project Leader from 1969 through 2005 when he retired after 35 years of service.   He is now employed as a part time bus driver with "Hilton Bus Service" in Camden, De.   He also taught evening classes at the Groves Adult Education School in Woodside, De. for 10 years and was a Little League manager for 8 years.
      He is a life member of and the webmaster of the "Cheswold Volunteer Fire Company".   He has served in multiple offices as a member of Cheswold.   Russ (159) is also currently the webmaster of multiple businesses and organization which can be viewed by "clicking here".   Karen is employed with Playtex Corportation and also is a beauty consultant with Mary Kay.   Russ (159) and Karen reside in rural Dover, DE. with three of their children, Kyle, Kayla & Kara.       Chris, (224) was born the 1st child & 1st son of Russell Stout (159) & Diane Sue (Collison) Pickett on March 13, 1976 in the Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE.    (See the "Pickett Family History")   Chris (224) attended Fairview Elementary (1st - 3rd), Towne Point Elementary (4th), William Henry Middle School (5th - 6th), Central Middle School (7th - 8th) & graduated from Dover High School in 1994.   He is currently attending night classes at Delaware State University.   Chris (224) currently is employed by Teal Construction in Dover, De. and is a Sergeant in the 153rd Military Police Unit of the Delaware National Guard.   He currently resides in rural Dover, Delaware.

" Ryan (225) & Tara Pickett "

      Ryan, (225) was born the 2nd child & 2nd son of Russell Stout (159) & Diane Sue (Collison) Pickett on February 3, 1979 in the Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE.   Ryan (225) attended Towne Point Elementary (1st - 4th), William Henry Middle School (5th - 6th), Central Middle School (7th - 8th) and graduated from the Poly Technical High School in Woodside, DE. in 1997   Ryan graduated from West Chester State University in West Chester, Pa. in the spring of 2002 with a degree in teaching.   In August, 2002 he started his teaching career at "Woodbridge High School" in Bridgeville, Delaware. He is currently teaching at the "Lake Forest High School" near Harrington, De.
      While teaching at Woodbridge Ryan (225) met and became engaged to Tara Buemi.   On July 15, 2006 they were married at the St. Michael the Archangel Church in Georgetown, Delaware.   Tara was born the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Buemi and is still teaching at the Woodbridge High School.   She is a 1998 graduate of Sussex Central High School in Georgetown and a 2002 graduate of the University of Delaware.   Ryan (225) & Tara reside in rural Milford, Delaware.
